Review: Green Angel

Author: Alice Hoffman

Genre: YA

Release Date: 2/1/2010

Summary From B&N.com:

Left on her own when her family dies in a terrible disaster, fifteen-year-old Green is haunted by loss and by the past. Struggling to survive physically and emotionally in a place where nothing seems to grow and ashes are everywhere, Green retreats into the ruined realm of her garden. But in destroying her feelings, she also begins to destroy herself, erasing the girl she'd once been as she inks darkness into her skin. It is only through a series of mysterious encounters that Green can relearn the lessons of love and begin to heal enough to tell her story.
My Review:
This book was amazing. Every word meant something, and packed emotion. This is a beautifully written, heart breaking book.

This book is about a girl named Green. Green's family goes to the city one day and leave Green at home to work on the garden. That day the city goes up in flames, and Green's family dies. She struggles to deal with her grief of her loss, and she struggles to live on by herself.

Green was shy and patient. She has a special touch with the garden. She turns into a person who is not shy and does not wait for anything. She tattoos her pain away. She heals others pain.

This book is incredibly written. It is a short book, but every word in the book counts. Each word is packed with emotion.

I completely loved this book. Green Angel is beautiful book about lost and learning how to live again.
