What's Next is a  meme hosted by IceyBooks. Where I show books that I want to read and you (the reader) gets to choose what one I read next.
This What's Next features two books dealing about starting school as part of my Last Week of Summer Blast. I will not be reading the winner for a couple of weeks, because of my huge review pile.
When 16-year-old Scarlett Wakefield transfers from St. Tabby’s to
Wakefield Hall Collegiate, she is relieved that no one knows her dark,
haunting secret. A few months ago, Scarlett was invited to an elite
party with a guest list full of the hottest names in British society,
including Dan McAndrew. Before the party, Scarlett had only imagined
what it would be like to have her first kiss with Dan, but on the
penthouse terrace, Dan leaned in close and she no longer had to wonder.
Their kiss was beautiful and perfect and magical, and then . . . Dan
McAndrew took his last breath as she held him in her arms. No one knows
how or why Dan died, and everyone at St. Tabby’s believes Scarlett had
something to do with it. But now that she’s safely hidden away at
Wakefield Hall, Scarlett would rather forget that it ever happened. Only
she can’t. Especially when she receives an anonymous note that will set
her on the path to clearing her name and finding out what really
happened to the first and last boy she kissed.
New Girl by Paige Harbison
 Summary from B&N.com:
Welcome to Manderley Academy
I hadn't wanted to go, but my
parents were so excited
. So here I am, the new girl at Manderley, a
true fish out of water. But mine's not the name on everyone's lips. Oh,
no.
It's Becca Normandy they can't
stop talking about. Perfect, beautiful Becca. She went missing at the
end of last year, leaving a spot open at Manderley—the spot that I got.
And everyone acts like it's my fault that infallible, beloved Becca is
gone and has been replaced by not perfect, completely fallible, unknown Me.
Then, there's the name on my
lips—Max Holloway. Becca's ex. The one boy I should avoid, but can't.
Thing is, it seems like he wants me, too. But the memory of Becca is
always between us. And as much as I'm starting to like it at Manderley, I
can't help but think she's out there, somewhere, watching me take her
place.
Waiting to take it back.
What should I read next?
